Graphite pear artwork

Create beautiful artwork using graphite pencils and vegetable oil.

What you need:

  • Roymac Rains watercolour Paper
  • Koh-I-Noor Progresso Graphite Pencil
  • Roymac 1600 Rounds size 8
  • Vegetable Oil

Step-by-step

Step 1: Sketch your design

Start lightly plotting in the shape of the pear and then add some shading to one side.

Step 2: Oil up!

Darken the tone and when you’re happy with the amount of shading dip your brush into the vegetable oil and paint over the graphite to blend it together. This will make a grungy, artistic effect.

Step 3: Touch-up

Taking your pencil you can then draw over it again, providing more shading.
